FUMCBwdBangsA favorite summertime tradition for many children and church members, Vacation Bible Schools and kids camps are taking place at many local churches this summer.  Volunteers are working hard to make special experiences and memories for children.    Customarily offered are weeks full of learning about God and Christian teachings, arts & crafts, plus Kool-Aid and lots of cookies.

Schedules of vacation Bible schools and kids camps that are being offered in the coming weeks are below.

June 28 – July 2
Midtown Baptist Church
invites kids 4 years old through 6th grade to attend their annual Vacation Bible School from 6:30-8:30 p.m. daily.  Organizers state there will be a special “big event” for 5th-6th graders.  Midtown Baptist Church is located at 1813 3rd Street in Brownwood.

Thursday Mornings

Austin Avenue Church of Christ will have VBS every Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon for kids that have finished kindergarten through kids that finished 5th grade.   “The Ball Is In Your Court” will be the theme for the week.  Austin Avenue Church of Christ is located at 1020 Austin Avenue in Brownwood.

Southside_EFBCJuly 6 – July 10
Early First Baptist Church will host their annual VBS July 6 – July 10.  Each day activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m.  All children ages 3 years through 6th grade are welcome to attend.  The theme this year is “Journey Off the Map.”  Each day attendees will “journey” to the following rotation sites:  Bible study, crafts, missions, music, and recreation.  For more information please call the church office (325) 646-6596 or Mrs. Pam (325) 642-1833.  Early FBC is located at 103 Garmon Drive in Early.

July 12 – 16
FUMCBwdBangsFUMC Brownwood will host an Everest themed VBS this year and invite all community children to attend.  Activities are from 5:30pm – 8:15pm.  FUMC Brownwood will welcome attendees to Everest, where conquering challenges is possible with God’s mighty power.  Each day, kids participate in small groups, called Climbing Crews, and discover practical ways to hold on to God’s mighty power! Not only will they experience exciting Bible adventures but they’ll also watch for God in everyday life through something called God Sightings. Attendees and their parents will discover that God is active in our lives and that His fingerprints are everywhere!

Everest is filled with epic Bible-learning experiences kids will see, hear, touch, and even taste! KidVid Cinema shares real stories of real kids who rely on God’s power to face life’s challenges! Attendees will also enjoy team-building games, cool Bible songs, and dinner to keep everyone on the move.?  Registration deadline is July 1, 2015.  To register online visit July 26-30
Southside Church will host VBS July 26-30 from 6:00- 8:30 PM.  Children ages 4 through 6th grade are invited to attend.  This year’s theme is “Journey Off the Map – Unknown to us, Known to Him.”  While exploring unchartered territory, kids attending will discover that Jesus is the ultimate guide.  They will learn that even when faced with the unexpected, they can know how to listen for God’s direction.  Southside Church is located at 1219 Indian Creek in Brownwood.  For more information or questions, please call 325-646-0844.
