halloween2013It’s that time of year again for kids to figure out costumes and adults to buy candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters.  Many places in the Brownwood area are hosting events celebrating fall and for Halloween.

October 31st or Halloween falls on Saturday this year and in addition to trick-or-treating, many places in the Brownwood area will be hosting special events leading up to the day.  Some local churches and non-profit organizations have festivals for people of all ages.

The third annual Zombie 5K Getaway is coming to Riverside Park in Brownwood on Saturday, October 24th, benefiting the Brown County United Way. Registration gets underway at 5:00 p.m. The Brown County United Way raises funds for the following local agencies:  Brown County 4-H Clubs, Girl Scouts Heart of Texas Council, Boys and Girls Clubs, Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key, Mid-Tex Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, CASA, The Ark, Brown County Association for Retarded Citizens, Cancer Services Network, Family Services Center, American Red Cross Pecan Valley Chapter, Salvation Army Loaves and Fishes and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County.  CLICK HERE for more information.  For Online Registration Southside Church Trunk or Treat

6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Southside Church will host their annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31st.  Come in costume and enjoy lots of fun and candy.  Southside Church is located at 1219 Indian Creek in Brownwood.

Haven Of Hope Trunk or Treat
October 31st

Havin Of Hope, located at 1617 Main Blvd., will host a Trunk or Treat.  Hot dogs, drinks, live music, and candy will be offered.
