The residents of Brown County continue to show overwhelming support for a Brownwood High School Senior fighting Muscular Dystrophy.
Shylah Cutbirth will undergo experimental treatment for her MD that is not covered by her medical insurance. As a result, several local businesses, churches, and residents are banding together to help raise money for Shylah’s treatments later this month.
–A BBQ meal benefit will take place on Sunday, October 18th from 11am – 2pm hosted by Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Adult plates are $8 each and child’s plates are $5. Brisket, potato salad, and beans will be served. Whole Briskets are also available for $70 each and can be ordered by calling 325-200-5271 or 641-1606. Businesses also had the chance to order BBQ meals earlier in the week to be delivered on Friday.
–The second benefit is a raffle for a Browning 12 ga. Shot Gun. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. The drawing will be held on Saturday the 17th. Call Teresa Stephens Lee from Stephens Ranch Hand Real Estate at 325-647-5461 for more information or to buy a ticket.
–The third benefit combines the recent Hands on a House competition from the Brownwood Reunion Celebration and the Brownwood Lions Homecoming Game on October 23rd.
Organizers of the event are selling football squares for $50 each for the Brownwood Lions homecoming game against Graham. The square with the correct final score wins the playhouse from Hands on a House donated by Zach Peterson (click here for more info on the Hands on a House). There will be gift card prizes for correct end of quarter scores as well.
For more information on the Football Square/Hands on a House contest, call Amy Boscamp at 325-200-5271 for more info or Tammy at 325-998-1378 to purchase a square.
All money raised will go to benefit Shylah for her upcoming treatment.
