The Brown County United Way held their annual Campaign Appreciation Luncheon on Friday recognizing donors who made pledges totaling $225,595 to help local agencies.
United Way Board Member Lynn Day explained that it takes the entier community to make the campaign a success which makes the funding of member agencies possible.Brown County United Way supports 15 agencies in Brown County which include American Red Cross, The Ark, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Brownwood Community Resource Council to benefit TJJD Youth, Brown County 4-H Clubs, Brown County Home Solutions, Brown County Association for Retarded Citizens, Cancer Services Network, C.A.S.A. in the Heart of Texas, Early Childhood Intervention, Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key Program, Family Services Center, Girl Scouts of Central Texas, Salvation Army Loaves & Fishes.
The 2015-2016 campaign raised these funds through generous contributions received from many businesses and individuals. The top four donors of this year’s campaign were 3M Company (pictured above) with donations totaling more than $59,600, Kohler Company with over $37,200, Atmos Energy with more than $12,600 and United Supermarkets $12,500.
The following businesses and their employees contributed $1,000 or more to the campaign, which totaled 90% of the total funds raised, and were recognized at Friday’s luncheon:
