Brownwood High School will graduate its senior class on Friday, May 25th at the Brownwood Coliseum.
Sarah Underwood is the Valedictorian for the class of 2012 and Melissa Rmeili is this year’s Salutatorian. Each was recognized Monday at the Brownwood High School Academic Awards (pictured above) and will speak at the commencement.
Graduation will begin at 7pm on Friday. See bios for the top graduates below as well as a full list of BHS 2012 graduates.
Sarah Underwood
Sarah is the daughter of Paul and Jill Underwood and is graduating Summa Cum Laude with a grade point average (GPA) of 4.31 and will have accumulated 32 college credit hours through dual credit classes.
During her years at BHS, Sarah has participated in several different activities including volleyball, cheerleading, track, and theater. She has been involved in organizations including the Spanish Club and the National Honor Society, serving as Treasurer her senior year. Sarah has also been the recipient of multiple awards throughout her high school career including the Lionheart Award for both Track and Volleyball, the MVP/Mary Steed Award for Volleyball, the Departmental Awards for Social Studies and Foreign Language, and various Academic Letter Awards.
After graduation, Sarah plans to attend Baylor University and major in Marketing.
“None of this would have been possible without the constant love and support of my parents, Paul and Jill Underwood, as well as the rest of my family and friends,” Sarah stated. “I am truly excited to see what the future has in store for me.”
Melissa Rmeili
Melissa is the daughter of Elias and Jana Rmeili and will also be graduating Suma Cum Laude with a GPA of 4.27 and will have accumulated 33 hours of college credit through dual credit classes. Melissa has been on the varsity volley ball team for three years, serving as co-captain for two of those years. She has also been involved with the National Honor Society serving as its president and has participated in the “Choices” program at BHS. Melissa attends Austin Avenue Church of Christ.
Melissa plans to attend Texas A&M University this fall and will major in business.
