The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) Brownwood District has named Jason H. Scantling, P.E. as director of transportation planning and development.
In his new position, Scantling will oversee project planning, design, right of way, bridge and public transportation programs.
He began his career with TxDOT as a summer employee in TxDOT’s Brownwood area office in 1997. For the past 11 years, he has worked in the district office where he held the positions of engineering assistant, transportation engineer, bridge engineer, and design engineer.
He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 2001 and became licensed as a professional engineer in 2005.
Scantling and his wife, Laura, reside at Lake Brownwood with their three children. He is active in his community and enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and cycling.
