Motorists may experience brief delays on several roads throughout TxDOT’s Brownwood district, beginning today.
Crews from Northeastern Pavers, Inc. will begin seal coat work on Monday, August 10.
Currently, roads are scheduled to be seal coated in the following order:
Weather permitting, seal coat work on individual roads will last 2-3 days. Work on all of the roadways listed is expected to be completed by mid-September.
“Seal coating is TxDOT’s way of maintaining the roadways and increasing their lifespan,” said Chelsea Humphrey, TxDOT’s Public Information Officer. “It seals in any cracks that have resulted from normal wear and tear and prevents moisture from seeping into the road’s foundation.”
Drivers should anticipate intermittent lane closures while work is performed. Those traveling in the area are urged to use caution around personnel and equipment, avoid any distractions, and obey all posted traffic signs.
