Two women were injured in a two-vehicle collision at Austin Avenue and Fisk Street Monday morning.

The accident occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m., as the two vehicles collided in the intersection.  A Ford Flex was traveling northbound on Austin as a Lincoln passenger car traveling south on Austin attempted to turn left onto Fisk, according to witnesses on scene.

The impact sent the Ford into the yard of the First Baptist Church, narrowly missing a metal sign and traffic light posts.  The Lincoln was spun around 180°.

The driver of the Ford and the driver of the Lincoln were both transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries according to emergency responders.  The passenger of the Ford was reported to be uninjured.

Both vehicles received significant damage.  The Ford had damage to the right front quarter panel, wheel, and other damages to its front end, as it ran onto two cement curbs.  The Lincoln had significant front end damage.  Both vehicles involved were towed from the scene.

Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department, and EMS responded to the scene.
