An accident in the 2500 block of Austin Avenue on Tuesday sent one woman to the hospital and left two vehicles badly damaged.
The accident occurred around 12:20pm as a Ford Taurus was traveling northwest on Austin Avenue and struck a parked Oncor pickup truck. According to police officers and EMS on scene, the woman was transported by Guardian EMS to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. According to witnesses on scene, the woman was recently released from the hospital.
The driver of the Oncor truck had parked along the curb in the roadway with cones behind it and had activated its blinkers while he was working at the residence. He was uninjured. His work truck was damaged and its contents spilled all over the roadway, including the toolbox from the bed of the truck.
