A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Avenue K and 11th Street sent one man to the hospital for treatment Monday evening.
At approximately 5:20pm, a Pontiac Grand Prix collided with a Ford passenger car and then came to a stop in the front yard of a home in the 1900 block of 11th Street.
Brownwood Police report that the driver of the Ford was travelling northeast on Avenue K and the Grand Prix was traveling southeast on 11th Street. Brownwood police and fire departments along with Guardian EMS responded to the accident.
The driver of the Ford reported she had just dropped off her two young children at her friends’ house just minutes before the accident occurred. She had facial bruising due to the air bag in her vehicle failing to deploy. The man driving the Grand Prix was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene of the accident.
