Emergency responders were called to the scene of a head-on collision in the 3100 block of Avenue E, near Hwy 377S around 10:30am Saturday, which turned out to be related to a runaway juvenile.
According to initial reports, as emergency responders were arriving on scene, Brownwood Police received a report of a runaway who had taken his father’s pickup truck late Friday night. The 14-year-old male driver of the truck and 20-year-old driver of the Nissan passenger car were both reported to be uninjured; neither were transported to the hospital.
The 14-year-old male driver was issued 3 citations.
The two vehicles collided causing significant damage to the passenger car, a 1999 Nissan, which was towed from the scene.
Brownwood Police, Brownwood Fire Department, and Guardian EMS responded to the scene.
