Brown County emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident with injuries on Hwy 279, near Big G’s Grocery Friday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper John Moody, an older model dark blue Ford F-150 pickup was traveling north on Hwy 279 and was stopped to turn into Big G’s. The driver of the truck reported to Trooper Moody that he was about to turn into the store’s parking lot when the engine stalled. He stated that he got the engine started and began to turn when the collision occurred, and he struck the southbound white Ford F-150. The collision caused the white Ford to flip onto its side, coming to a stop in the parking lot of Big G’s.
The driver of the white pickup was trapped in the vehicle and was reported to be “pretty banged up,” according to emergency responders. The other driver was reported to be uninjured until he attempted to upright the white Ford and injured himself in the process. Both men were transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.
Texas DPS, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, Brownwood Fire Department’s Rescue 1, and EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
