Brownwood first responders were called to a two-vehicle accident in the north bound outside lane of U.S. Hwy. 377 South on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:00 noon when the driver of a Toyota Pruis, traveling north, did not notice the fuel truck stopped at the railroad crossing, subsequently rear ending the truck, according to emergency responders on scene.

 

The driver of the Prius sustained only minor injuries and was checked by EMS on scene; however, she was not transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the truck was reported to be uninjured.

The truck sustained very minor damage. The Toyota Prius, pictured above, received significant front end damage due to the collision and was towed from the scene.

Brownwood Police, Brownwood Fire Department and Lifeguard Ambulance responded to the scene of the accident.
