Brownwood first responders were called to a two-vehicle accident on Austin Avenue Thursday afternoon involving a sedan striking a motorcycle.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. when a male on a Honda motorcycle was traveling south on Austin Avenue and attempted a right turn onto Slayden Street. According to emergency responders on scene, the motorcyclist stated that as he was turning, he was struck by a vehicle which was traveling behind him. It was reported that the driver of the vehicle, a Ford Taurus, had looked into her rearview mirror and not noticed the motorcyclist attempting to turn in front of her.
The male subject was reported to have sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. He was placed in a neck brace and transported by ambulance to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
