Original Story: The Early Police Department reports that two suspects are being sought in a New Year’s Eve aggravated robbery at Big G Grocery Store. Early Police Chief David Mercer released the following information on Thursday:
On Wednesday 12/31/2014, the Early Police Department responded to the Big G Grocery store in the 800 Block of Early Blvd to a reported armed robbery. Officers arrived within a minute of the call at which time the clerk told officers that 2 men dressed in black, one armed with a shotgun, ran to the rear of the store. Officers began checking the area and spoke to a witness on Homewood Circle directly behind the store who stated that she saw a gray 4-door car leave the area just moments before.
When the suspects entered the store, one fired a shot with the shotgun into the counter while another ran around the store and grabbed the other clerk, striking him in the head with what appeared to be brass knuckles. The suspects made the clerks remove cash from the cash register along with some cigarettes. As the suspects began to leave the store, the one with what appeared to be brass knuckles then struck the 2nd clerk in the back of the head. As they left, the suspect holding the shotgun fired another shot into the counter. The suspect then fled the store. One clerk was transported to the emergency room for an injury to the head when he was struck by the suspect.
The suspects were described as one being approximately 5’10 the other about 6’. Both wearing hoodies and winter weather face mask and gloves. Both appeared to be white males.
