Elections for the City of Brownwood Mayor office and several City Council seats are fast approaching, and residents will get two chances to hear from the candidates this week in open public forums.
The first forum is hosted by the Brownwood Municipal Police Association and will be held on Tuesday, April 20th at 6pm at the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom. Each candidate will have a short time to speak and then a question and answer session will follow. Questions are being accepted online through the Brownwood Municipal Police Association website. The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the second candidate forum on Friday, April 23rd during their monthly luncheon at the Brownwood Country Club from 11:30am-1:30pm. The luncheon is open to Chamber members & guests and will include door prizes and a cash drawing. Each candidate will have a few minutes to address the audience and then a question and answer session will follow. The cost of the luncheon is $10 per person. City Election day is May 8th and early voting begins on April 26th.
