Two Brown County teens died Sunday after an early morning wreck in Runnels County.
Brownwood High School senior Billy Jones, 18, and 2013 Zephyr High School graduate Bolton Day, 19, passed away as a result of the crash that took place in the early monring hours Sunday in Runnels County between Talpa and Ballinger. A third occupant of the vehicle was reported to have walked away from the accident.
Responders report that the vehicle struck another vehicle on Highway 67 which was occupied by two people, but no information has been released on their conditions.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene and Day died later at a hospital in San Angelo as a result of his injuries.
Friends and family of Jones and Day held a balloon release ceremony Sunday evening at Coggin Park in memory of the teens. Many of those in attendance were still in shock from the news.
Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the crash and has not released any information about the cause of the accident as of Sunday evening.
