Brownwood News – The Brownwood Police Department answered the following calls for service Monday and early Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2019, the Brownwood Police Department performed a traffic stop on a bicyclist in the 1800 block of Belle Plain Street. During the encounter, a small quantity of methamphetamine was recovered and a man was arrested and charged with the possession of a controlled substance.

On August 26, 2019 at approximately 21:24 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer attempted to stop a wanted person in the 700 block of Coleman Street. The person evaded the arrest by fleeing the scene. A report has been generated.

On August 26, 2019 at approximately 11:57 a.m. a Sergeant initiated a traffic stop on a male subject on a bicycle in the 1800 block of Brady Avenue. The subject evaded police on the bicycle and then on foot. This led to the arrest of a man for Evading Arrest/Detention and for three outstanding warrants out of the Brownwood Municipal Court.
