TSTCBlossomEventTexas State Technical College (TSTC) invites all girls 13 and older to Blossom, a fun-filled day of learning, lunch, a t-shirt and hands-on activities.  In Brownwood, Blossom will be from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21st.

Blossom plant the seeds of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and explains how STEM affects everyone every day, what careers are available, and to have students be inspired by special guest and speaker Blackhawk pilot Elizabeth McCormick who will share her inspirational real stories of overcoming obstacles as she became a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for the U. S. Army.

McCormick is a 2011 Congressional Veteran Commendation recipient. She has flown in air assault/rappelling, VIP, command & control and military intelligence-gathering missions. In 1999, she supported UN peacekeeping operations in Kosovo.

McCormick retired from the military in 2001 after suffering a career-ending injury and is currently an advocate for disabled veterans and an inspirational speaker. She has been featured on 20/20 and MSNBC, empowering her audience to “go from where you are to where you want to be.”  She is also a #1 Best Selling Author, her fifth book; The P.I.L.O.T Method was released in September 2013.
