Texas StateTechnical College (TSTC) Chancellor Mike Reeser announced today that current Interim West Texas President Gail Lawrence will be recommended to the TSTC Board of Regents to become the next President of the four West Texas locations.
Lawrence has served on many boards including the Director of Human Resources at Hendrick Health System and Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
Lawrence has been in the Big Country for more than 25 years and has served as the Interim President for TSTC West Texas since November 2010 when then President Reeser was appointed to Chancellor.
Her public service includes: nine year member of the Sweetwater ISD Board of Trustees, having served as secretary, Vice President and President; founding board member of West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center; board member, Texas Midwest Community Network; and board member of the Nolan County Appraisal District.
“I’m very pleased for the students and employees of TSTC West Texas who will be the fortunate beneficiaries of her leadership,” said Chancellor Reeser.
The Texas State Technical College Board of Regents will vote on Lawrence’s approval at their next meeting on August 5th, 2011.
