TSTC_logoA high school welding competition will be hosted by TSTC Brownwood on March 22nd. Judging will get underway at 10:00 AM.

The competition will feature two categories: on-site skills and projects.  The skills contest allows students to showcase their talents and a written portion has been added this year.  The projects category will judge a project which is completed prior to the competition and brought for judging.  Students in this category must submit a portfolio with their project.  There will be five local judges for the event.

According to organizers, schools planning to attend include Bangs, Cherokee, Coleman, Cooper, Lometa, May, Priddy, Granbury and Rochelle.

In 2011, there were 50 attendees participating in the competition.  Last year TSTC did not hold a competition because of remodeling of the facility.

Local sponsors for the event include Air Gas, Loadcraft, Lincoln, and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.
