Texas State Technical College West Texas presented awards to graduating students at the Brownwood campus Thursday night in a convocation ceremony.
“This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and effort that you put in while you were here at TSTC,” said Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Brian Kight. “The students who made it through the program are to be congratulated very much for all of their accomplishments and what they have done, and we are so very proud of you as you made this journey to get to this point.”
Seven students at the Brownwood campus received special honors Thursday at the local convocation which serves as an awards ceremony. Matthew W. Price received the President’s award for the Brownwood campus. One graduate from each TSTC campus is selected for this award.

Latoya Dianne Allen – Program Award – Health Information Technology
Pam N. Jacobs – Program Award – Software & Business Management- Accounting/Desktop Publishing
Kristi L. Landa – Program Award – Health Information Technology
Matthew W. Price – Program Award – Software & Business Management-Accounting/Desktop Publishing and Student Excellence Award
Melanie T. Tamez – Student Leadership Award
Josalyn R. Wheeless – Program Award – Nursing
Bonnie L. Woods – Program Award – Nursing
Five local students were also inducted into Phi Theta Kappa for their academic achievements including Melanie Tamez, Angelina Clawson, Marie Leonard, Latoya Allen, and Matthew Price (pictured at top).
Students from all four TSTC West Texas campuses in Brownwood, Abilene, Breckenridge, and Sweetwater will participate in graduation ceremonies on Friday in Abilene including those recognized from the Brownwood campus. A total of 138 students will graduate, 38 with honors from all of the campuses.
