Clyde Adams, 86, of Early Texas, went home to see the lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Clyde served as a gunner in the United States Navy during World War II. When he arrived home he married Earlene Anderson, the absolute love of his life, on June 28, 1947 and lived in Dallas several years before they relocated to Brownwood in1957 and began working for Ross Porta Plant. Clyde started his own painting company, Adams Painting Company and later he partnered with his son James. Being the hard worker he was he also started another company Adams Autos where he bought and sold cars.
Clyde worked until he was 80 years old.
Clyde loved camping, fishing and hunting with his family. He was and incredibly loving and wonderful husband and father, he will be remembered for his kindness and faith.
He is survived by his loving wife Earlene Adams to whom he was married 65 years. They lived in Early for 42 years and had four children Donald Adams and wife Sharon of Brownwood, Bonnie Kelly and husband Tootie of Lake Brownwood, Pam Ellis and husband Lewis of Brownwood, and James Adams and wife Shannon of Early. He is survived by ten grandchildren Ron Adams, Amy Adams Elliott, Michael Reid, Jeremy Hall, Bryan Adams, Tyler Adams, Colby Adams, Craigan Ellis, Mason Ellis and Dillon Ellis. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and one brother Jack Adams of Longview Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Service will be held at Heartland Funeral Home Saturday at 10:30 am. Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8pm. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.
