Traffic was shut down for a time Wednesday morning on the Truman Harlow Overpass in Brownwood after a driver hauling a pickup on a trailer lost control and crashed on the overpass.

The driver was headed northbound on the overpass when he said he heard a pop and lost control of the Ford F-450 truck and trailer carrying a Ford F-250 at the curve of the overpass.  Responders on scene said that driver rode the railing all the way down.

Two street light poles were knocked down landing in the opposite lanes of traffic.

The driver, Ronald Hale of Big Spring, was traveling from Brady to pick up a transmission in Brownwood when the crash occurred.  Hale said that he really didn’t know what caused the crash, but he has been hauling things all of his life.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department, Guardian EMS and Texas Department of Transportation responded to the scene of the accident.

Pictured above is the damaged truck that was being hauled.  Below are more photos from the scene of the accident.
