Trent Thompson passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 30, 2010, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm Monday May 3, 2010 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, with Mike Hays. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Davis-Morris Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Sunday May 2, 2010.
He was born on July 15, 1926. Trent was a 30 year retiree from GTE. His great love of hunting and fishing captured the hearts of friends and family who shared his passion.
Trent Thompson was a lifelong resident of Brownwood, Texas. He was a Navy Veteran who served during WWII aboard the USS Belle Grove LSD from 1943 to 1946. As a Seaman Second Class, he was proud to have driven landing craft. He fought many battles in the Pacific Theatre and achieved a number of commendations for his service.
Trent is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary Hutson Thompson, daughters Barbara Thompson, of Arlington, Mary Eaton and husband, Don, of Leander, son, Steven Trent Thompson, and wife, Catherine, of Cedar Hill. Six grandchildren Sherry Benjamin and husband, Ronnie, of Sand Springs, OK, Christopher Eaton and wife, Tonja, of Round Rock, Trisha Slaughter of San Marcos, Benjamin Trent Eaton of College Station, Nora and Aidan Thompson of Cedar Hill. He has three great-grandchildren Shane Benjamin of Sand Springs, OK, Annabelle and Parker Eaton of Round Rock. He also has many loving nieces and nephews.
Trent was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Cosy Thompson of Brownwood, two sisters, Rosellen Thompson and Mae Rhee Williams and an infant son Lindsay.
