The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their annual “Treats for Santa Bake-off” competition at the upcoming 7th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival on the first weekend in December. 

Area bakers can enter the contest to show off their skills in several categories including pies, cakes, bars/brownies, cookies, bread/rolls, and muffins. 

The contest will take place on the second day of the festival, Saturday, December 5th.  Baked goods will only be accepted on Saturday, December 5th from 3-4 PM at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and judging will begin at 4:30 PM.

Scoring for each treat will be based on taste, appearance and originality.

Cost to enter the competition is $10 per entry and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Entry forms are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce or can be downloaded at BrownwoodChristmas.com.

The 7th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival sponsored by KTXS-TV will feature holiday games, crafts, food and attractions for kids of all ages.  The event will take place on Friday, December 4th and Saturday, December 5th from 4-8 PM at the Depot Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.  Key attractions will include Mr. and Mrs. Claus, giant slide, Big Wheel Races and Treats for Santa Contest.   Sponsors for the festival include KTXS, Howard Payne University, Wal-Mart, Brownwood Women’s Clinic, Allegiance Ambulance, Landmark Life, and Woodley & Dudley, Attorneys.

The annual lighted Christmas Parade will be held Thursday, December 3rd at 6:30 PM in Downtown Brownwood sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway.
