Travis Gene Henderson, age 79, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at a local nursing home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at First United Methodist Church of Bangs with Wayne Lewis and Michael Redman officiating; burial will follow at Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Travis was born to Vernon and Viola (Martin) Henderson on February 17, 1937, in Shallowater, Texas. He married the love of his life, Bertha Juannell Bevers in 1973, in Odessa. Travis lived in Midland for a number of years.
He worked for Qualified Printers before retiring. He loved woodworking in his spare time. Travis was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bangs.Travis is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bertha Juannell Henderson of Brownwood; children, Cerena Suarez and husband Rick of El Paso, Kelly Jean Ives and husband Terry of Midland, Craig Allen Halford and wife Amaleta of Nevada, Jan Eiland and husband Eddie of Montgomery, and Bobby Hudnall, Jr. of Odessa; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister, Vernola Loranc of Port Arthur. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Halford; parents; and brother-in-law, Charles Loranc.
