Brownwood News – The following call for service was listed on the Brown County Sheriff’s Department report on Thursday, October 10.
On October 8, Chief Deputy Stroope made a traffic stop on a silver 4-door passenger car in the 500 block of Austin Avenue. During contact with the driver, Chief Deputy Stroope observed a strong odor of un-burned marijuana emitting from the vehicle. He located 7.5 grams of marijuana in the center console during a probable cause search. Both the driver and passenger were arrested for Possession of Marijuana < 2 oz in a Drug Free Zone, due to the traffic stop taking place less than 1,000 feet from Wiggins Park, located in the 500 block of Victoria Street.
