Brownwood News – The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Tornado Warning for Southern Brown County and Southeastern Coleman County until 815 PM CDT.

At 727 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Trickham, or 5 miles southeast of Santa Anna, moving east at 20 mph. This tornado has been confirmed by officials. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

The tornado will be near Bangs and Brookesmith around 750 PM CDT. The tornado will be near Brownwood around 815 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include US 67 near The Coleman-Brown County Line, Indian Creek and Owens.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
