A rental truck was badly damaged after it traveled north through the Vine Street underpass on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m. According to Brownwood Police on scene, the truck driver misjudged the height of his vehicle and traveled through the underpass, shearing off the top of the box truck.
The driver was not injured and appeared in good spirits considering the way his day had turned out. He declined comment on the cause or details of the accident along with the origin or destination of his travels, due to his company’s policy.
Brownwood Police along with BNSF Railway workers were present at the scene to evaluate the damage to both the vehicle and the structure of the underpass.
