Top honors were earned by the Early ISD Choral program at the University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight-Reading Contest held at Granbury High School on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
The Early Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir, which includes boys in grades 7-12, earned excellent ratings on both concert and sight-reading performances. The Early Varsity High School Mixed Concert Choir came home with a Sweepstakes rating with straight one ratings from all six judges in both sight-reading and concert performances.
In addition, the Early Varsity Treble Choir, which includes girls in grades 7-12, earned a Sweepstakes trophy, again amassing straight ones from all six judges. The choral repertoire included Down in the Valley, by Leavitt; Colorado Trail, by Moore; Tenting Tonight, by Rentz; In You I Found, by Farnell; Da Pacem Domine, by Goetz; I Have Touched the Face of God, by Goemanne; Set Me as a Seal, by Leavitt; My Heart’s in the Highlands, by Moore and Death Shall Not Destroy My Comfort, by Wilberg.The choral program is under the direction of Angie Prock, Assistant Choral Director, and Judy C. Reed, Director of Choral Activities for the Early ISD.
