Brownwood's Got Talent

Auditions were held Saturday at the Grand Starz Bingo Hall for the 2nd annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration Brownwood’s Got Talent competition, and the top 12 finalists out of 31 contestants were selected to participate in the next round.  The competition was open to any talent and the winner will be selected during this year’s Brownwood Reunion Celebration.

Eight judges were on hand to evaluate the talents and choose the top 12 through a rating system, and the results of the finalists were made by combining the 8 judges’ scores for each performer and averaging them.

Each finalist will have a video of their performance posted to www.celebratebrownwood.com at the beginning of next week. From there, viewers will be able to vote on their favorite. The online voting will account for 50% of the judges’ scores on the day of the final performances at the Brownwood Reunion.

The top 12 will each win a t-shirt and will come back on Saturday, September 21st, during the Reunion from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., to perform live for the judges on Celebration Stage (across from the BBQ cook-off).

The judges’ top three entries will all win prizes; however the winner will receive backstage passes, VIP passes and the opportunity to perform at 10 p.m. Saturday night at the Celebration Stage before Corey Morrow performs.

This year’s finalists include:

Heather Green
Jaden Matthews
Karsen McCarter
Michael McFetridge
Moriah McNeely
Katherine Palmer
Kalob Rose
Cody Sellers
Zakary Webb
Aaron Tassin
Jayslin King
Kellee Greenwood

This year’s Brownwood Reunion Celebration will be held September 20, 21, and 22.  The community-wide festival features a variety of contests, events, attractions, music, and food in addition to the main concerts.
