Toni Ann Mason Strength, age 65, of Talpa, died Friday, September 27, 2019, at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Casey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Midway Cemetery, Coleman County, Texas, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Toni Ann Mason on September 28, 1953, in Coleman, a daughter of Thomas Littleton Mason and Wanda Jean Cummings Mason.  She grew up in Coleman where she also attended school.   On September 14, 1971 she married Delbert James Strength in Hobbs, New Mexico and they have celebrated 48 years of marriage.  Most of their married life they have lived in Coleman and Runnels Counties.  She worked from 1989 to 1992 for the Attorney General’s Office, starting as a clerk and then as a case manager.  She then went to work for Texas Department of Health and Human Resources as a clerk and later as a case manager.  She retired in 2014.

As well as working outside the home, Toni was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana and homemaker.  She taught her girls to sew, cook and clean.  She loved her children and grandchildren and was a strong woman of faith who passed that faith on to them. She was always glad to help out her family and friends in any way that she could.   She enjoyed gardening and could grow anything.  One of her favorite pastimes was watching cooking shows on television, especially Pioneer Woman.  She enjoyed shopping and was a VIP member of Goodwill.  She spent many happy hours shopping for her family and was always thrilled to find bargains.   She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Talpa.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert Strength of Talpa; four children, Michael Strength and wife Michelle of Talpa, Bonnie Cassaday and husband Zane of Talpa, Kelli Strength Hyden of Coleman and Gina Hatcher and husband Mike of Boerne; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Needham and husband Andy of Abilene; one brother, Joe Mason and wife Sarah of Coleman; her mother-in-law, Louise Strength of Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews.
