A memorial service for Tommy Bumpass, age 82, of Brownwood, will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Mark Waters officiating.
Mr. Bumpass died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Tommy was born on May 11, 1930 in Lubbock to J.C. and Ethel Bumpass. He married Billie Jean Cathey on June 4, 1949. At age 15, Tommy began a lifelong career in the linen, laundry and dry cleaning business. He owned and operated laundries and dry cleaners in Lubbock, Snyder and Brownwood.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Billie of Brownwood, two daughters, Tommie Jean Wiggins and husband Mike of Denison and Rhonda Jo Wickline of Brownwood, a son Timothy David Bumpass of Brownwood, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister and a brother.
A graveside funeral service was held Nov. 14th at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, Love Brownwood fund or to Solaris Hospice.
