Graveside services for Tommie Lyndon Barnhill, age 54, of Brownwood, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Marble Falls City Cemetery with Tim Boykin officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.   Mr. Barnhill passed away Tuesday morning at a local nursing home.

Tommie was born June 2, 1956 in Burnet, Texas to Fred W. and Ruby Lee (Montgomery) Barnhill.  He attended Marble Falls High School and served in the U. S. Army.  He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and the VFW.  Tommie was a family oriented man who loved hunting, fishing and country music.  He loved to compose songs and play the guitar; a talent he shared with many of his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his son, Tommy Ray Barnhill and wife, Darla; grandson, Jesse Ray Barnhill and granddaughter, Mikaela Mae of Burnet; sisters, Linda Fay Cochran and husband Phillip of Brownwood and Rhonda Kay Barnhill and brother-in-law, Don Crider of Marble Falls; brothers, Fred D. Barnhill and wife, Doris of Brownwood, Jerry Barnhill and wife, Carolyn of Wyoming, Johnny Barnhill and wife, Linda of Marble Falls and Terry Barnhill and wife, Debbie of Colorado; sister-in-law Cindy Goins and husband, Gary of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruby Barnhill and grandmother, Emma Williamson.
