Police responded to a report on Sunday afternoon regarding several tires that had been slashed in a parking lot on Howard Payne University campus.

Officer Sky Self issued a report stating that all of the cars with damaged tires were parked in the same parking lot directly behind the dorms of HPU campus.  Self’s report also indicated that the vehicles that were damaged were parked near the roadway making them easier to access and vandalize.

The report indicates that six vehicles were involved, each vehicle having one slashed tire with the damage to the side walls of each.  It also states that the cuts were possibly made with a small pocket or box cutter.

Several victims reported using their vehicles on Sunday morning leaving the opportunity for the slashings to have occurred sometime after the noon hour in daylight.

Police believe that these tire slashings were a random act.
