To help reduce the population of mosquitoes that may be carrying the West Nile Virus, the City of Brownwood and BISD are sponsoring a tire round up.
P.A.S.S (Pride for Areas Surrounding Schools) will host a tire round up from 9am to 3pm on Friday and Saturday, August 24 & 25. Organizers ask citizens to help prevent the West Nile Virus by taking part in this roundup.
Tires stored outside are a continuing source of breeding mosquitoes. Residents of the City of Brownwood may dispose of up to 6 tires for FREE at 1000 Avenue B and 1005 Irma Street
– vacant lots across from the Coggin Elementary School. Tires should be no larger than those on cars and pick-up trucks.
The event is sponsored by the City of Brownwood and Brownwood Independent School District. For more information, call 325-646-5331.
