A three-vehicle accident at the intersection of W. Austin and Victoria Street sent four to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
According to witnesses on scene, an elderly man driving a Chevy pickup rear-ended a woman driving a Chevy Terrain which caused her to strike another vehicle, a Ford Expedition, which was stopped at the stop sign on Victoria. The impact pushed the Expedition back several feet from its original position and caused the two vehicles’ grills to become locked together temporarily. The pickup sustained little damage and its driver was uninjured.
The occupants of the Terrain, a woman and two children, were all transported by Guardian EMS and the passenger of the Expedition also went to the hospital for evaluation by private vehicle. The driver of the Expedition was not transported. The Expedition sustained front-end damage. The Terrain sustained significant front-end and rear damage which dented the hatchback and broke the rear window.
Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department and Guardian EMS responded to the accident scene.
