Brownwood first responders were called to the area of Main and Gill Streets for a three-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon which resulted in one driver being transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. when a Dodge minivan traveling on the northbound feeder lane of Main Street crossed both northbound lanes and struck the back quarter panel of a Toyota pickup which was traveling northbound on Main Street. The van was then hit by a Chevy pickup, which was also traveling northbound, in its rear quarter panel, causing it to travel into the southbound lanes where it came to a stop at the curb.
The driver of the Dodge van was transported by ambulance to Brownwood Regional Medical Center. It was not reported at the time of the accident if the female passenger of the van was injured. Neither of the drivers of the pickups reported any injuries. The Chevy had some front end damage but remained drivable. The Toyota sustained damage to its drive shaft, which was broken due to the impact of the collision and was towed from the scene. The van was also towed from the scene.
Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance responded to the scene.
