Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs released a statement reporting that on 06/18/2010, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals in the 2300 Block of Main Boulevard in Brownwood.  These arrests were in connection to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Investigator Carlyle Gover continued his investigation into this manufacturing and received information that a residence across the street was also involved in the distribution of methamphetamine.  Gover identified the resident of that house to be Brittany Carraway.  Enlisting the help of Brown County Probation Office Jay Curtis, around 3:00 p.m., Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office went to that location to check on Brittany Carraway who was currently on probation.  After arriving at the location, a second individual, Jessie Crouch, was found to be there as well.

Deputies searched the residence and located methamphetamine, packaging, and scales; all of which support methamphetamine distribution.  Deputies also located smoking pipes, which are used for smoking methamphetamine.  Over 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located, but field tests were inconclusive.  This methamphetamine will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety lab for further testing.

During the search of this residence, Investigator Gover noticed Michael Carraway at a residence next door. Michael and Brittany are related in some manner.  Michael Carraway acted in a suspicious manner and drew the officer’s attention to himself before leaving the area. Brittany Carraway and Jessie Crouch were arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Investigator Gover continued his investigation and around 11:00 p.m. returned to the house next door where Michael Carraway had been seen.  Michael Carraway was located back at this residence.  After obtaining consent to search, Deputy James Stroope deployed his K9 Izzy to search the residence.  Located in the refrigerator was uncooked hamburger meat.  Inside the meat were packages of methamphetamine and Alprazolam.  These items were packaged up for distribution.  Other items were found in Michael Carraway’s property linking him to the methamphetamine in refrigerator and the items seized next door.

Based on this continued investigation, it is believed that people arrested from all three of these residences in the 2300 Block of Main Boulevard where working together to distribute methamphetamine.  As the Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation more arrests are expected in connection with this group.
