Brownwood News – A head-on collision between a 2012 Dodge Charger and 2020 Toyota Corolla killed three and severely injured another Sunday evening in Nolan County.
The wreck was reported on State Highway 153 just over 19 miles southeast of Sweetwater in Nolan County.
According to the preliminary DPS Report, the Toyota was traveling south on Highway 153. The Dodge was traveling north. The Toyota attempted to pass a truck-tractor with semi-trailer in a no passing zone, crashing head-on into the Dodge. The crash is under investigation.
Killed in the Toyota was the driver, Bryan Isaac Pesina, 20, of Dale. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Killed in the Dodge Charger was the driver, Joan Palacious, 43, of Crosbyton and Juan Palacious, 47, of Crosbyton. Injured in the Dodge was Katerina Pesina, 22, of Crosbyton (not related to the driver of the Toyota). She was transported to John Peter-Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with critical injury, according to the accident report.
