Brownwood News – Three young ladies from Brown County will spend a portion of their Christmas break playing softball with other players from around Texas and the nation.
Lila Mares, Mattisyn Taylor and Kaydente Allen have been selected to play in the Softball Youth All-American games in Round Rock, Texas December 27-30. This is the second year for Mattisyn to be invited. All the girls went through an interview process and had to submit videos of their playing skills.
When they arrive in Round Rock on December 27 they will attend the opening ceremony then meet their coach and 10-12 other teammates for the very first time. Coaches are D1 softball players, scouts and recruiters. They will go through skill assessment of sprint speed, throwing speed and batting speed.
Bracket games begin on December 28. Good luck to these young ladies as they represent Brown County.
