The Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted its annual Fields of Faith event Wednesday night with thousands of area students and athletes attending at Gordon Wood Stadium.
Those in attendance heard Christian testimonies from other student athletes, live Christian music, and guest speaker Kevin Kelly.
“It is an amazing thing that we have this community and area opportunity every year to call young men and to call young women into the presence of God, collectively as a community,” Kelly said. “The beauty of Fields of Faith is not so much as what God is going to do tonight, but what we’re going to do with what God does tonight.”
After a brief message and story from the Bible, an invitation was open and a mass of students came forward to learn more about Jesus and some to rededicate their lives.
Leaders broke into prayer groups to help those who came forward.
This rapidly-growing, interdenominational outreach event was held at more than 400 locations throughout the nation Wednesday night. This was the 6th year the event was held in Brownwood.
