Thousands of electricity customers in Brownwood lost power Sunday night causing many to miss part of this year’s Super Bowl.
Just after 6:30 PM, more than 5000 Oncor Electric Deliver customers lost power, according to the company’s website during the event. Outages were reported at Commerce Square, 3M Company, Kohler, most of south Brownwood, and as far out as FM 45 south of town.
Oncor officials said that the power started coming back on to customers around 7:35 PM.
Initial reports indicate that the outage was caused by an issue at a local substation.
