The Brownwood Coliseum was surrounded by attendees for the 60th Annual Kiwanis Pancake Supper Tuesday night.  Thousands gathered for a feast of pancakes in an Election Day tradition.

Those working the event wore crazy hats and cooked from 4:30-7:30pm for the hungry crowd.  Brownwood High School Key Club members bused tables, keeping them clean and helped wait on those who needed more butter, syrup and assistance.

All money raised at the event is donated each year to local charities and programs that help support the youth of the community.   Signs in the Coliseum stated that over the past ten years the Kiwanians have raised over $92,244 through this event.

Organizers said that the lines appeared longer than usual for the delicious food.  At one point, the line for pancakes wrapped around about a third of the exterior of the coliseum and into the front door.

The supper continues to be a favorite local event, attracting huge crowds each year.
