The American Southwest Conference today announced its women’s basketball players of the week and Howard Payne University senior guard Jasmin Thomas was named the West Division Player of the Week.
Howard Payne senior guard Jasmin Thomas (McGregor, TX / Midway HS) averaged 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals over road wins against East Texas Baptist and Centenary. Thomas, who shot 59.1 percent from the floor and committed just two turnovers, scored a career-high 22 points against Centenary. She played only 19 minutes in an 80-45 game with ETBU.
Her play allowed the Lady Jackets to extend their winning streak to eight games.
