Funeral Services for Thomas Anderson Tackett, age 81, of Brownwood will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 14, 2010 at the Salem Cemetery with Bill Slaymaker officiating, interment to follow in under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Mr. Tackett passed away Thursday morning in Austin.
Thomas was born June 22, 1928 in Winters,Tx to the late Jack and Missouri (Hamner) Tackett. He married Mary Jones who preceded him in death in 1959 and later married LaVerne Voss and she preceded him in death in 1996. Thomas worked as a butcher and meat inspector for many years, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and a Veteran.
He is survived by three children; daughters Darice Miksch of Columbus,Tx, Joy Janacek and husband C.J. of Richmond,Tx; and son, Andy Tackett and wife Susan of Schulenburg,Tx; grandchildren, Anson Miksch and wife Marcia, Amber Brown and husband Kevin, Erin Janacek, Melinda Tackett, Jamie Tackett, and Cameron Janacek; three great grandchildren, Caleb Miksch, MacKenzie Brown, and Jillian Miksch; a brother, John Daniel “Pete” Tackett and wife Wilma of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives; son-in-law Michael Miksch; two grandsons, Andrew Miksch and Chad Janacek; and numerous brothers and sisters.
