Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports that preliminary autopsies have positively identified all three victims of Monday morning’s deadly mobile home fire near Lake Brownwood.

BCSO Captain Tony Aaron stated that all three victims have been identified as well as preliminary findings reported from the autopsies.

Initially two of the victims were identified around 12:30 PM on Monday as 43-year-old Eddie Jowers and 42-year-old Denman Cain, Jr.  The identity of the female victim of the fire was confirmed Wednesday morning to be 47-year-old Deleah Taggart, who was known to be the girlfriend of Eddie Jowers according to Aaron.

The autopsy preliminary report shows the cause of both Jowers’ and Taggarts’ deaths to be inhalation of smoke.   The cause of Cain’s death was reported to be inhalation of smoke as well as thermal burns.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature, but we haven’t received conclusive reports,” said Aaron.

Two state fire marshals investigated the scene of the fire mid-morning on Monday.  It appears the cause of the fire was not criminal in nature and appears to have been an accident, according to Aaron.
