Funeral services for Theresa Brooks, 99, of Brownwood will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She passed away Monday, March 7, 2011, at a local Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 15, 1912, in Caldwell, Texas, the daughter of William and Lunia Green Miller.
She was married to Jake Brooks in Caldwell. He preceded her in death.
She lived in Brownwood for over 60 years and was employed as a housekeeper. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Women’s Mission and stood strong at her post as an usher for many years.
She is survived by a nephew, Frank Cooper of Fort Worth, Texas; one great-nephew, Pastor Melvin Cooper of Tulsa, Okla.; and three great-nieces, Sharon Desmond of California, Valerie Cooper of Oklahoma City and Marylon Cooper of Tulsa.
She was preceded in death by both parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brownwood Funeral Home and Cremations.
