IMG_2283The Lyric Performing Arts Company will present their first production of the year next week with performances of the children’s play “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”.

The play is a great rendition of the classic story where a young sorcerer’s apprentice tries to use magic to clean his master’s shop while the sorcerer is away.   Of course, chaos follows as mops and brooms take over the shop.

This presentation of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” will be great fun for kids as the performers look for some audience interaction.  All of the performers do a great job telling a fun story that kids and adults will enjoy.  The song “played” by the mops and brooms is hilarious and the apprentice does a great job throughout the play.

It opens Monday with performances scheduled for May 17, 18, and 19 (9am, 11am, and 1pm each day) at the HPU Theatre. Adult tickets are $5 each and group sales are available for groups of ten or more for $2 per person.  Several area schools have already purchased blocks of tickets, so be sure to check for availability.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 325-649-8516 or please visit www.brownwoodlyrictheatre.com to purchase online.
